Prof Karadag was born in 1968 at Kilis. He was graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1992. Dr Karadag educated in Pediatrics at Zeynep Kamil Children’s Hospital, Istanbul between 1992-1997. He received European Respiratory Society (ERS) Training Fellowship and worked at the Royal Brompton Hospital with Prof Andrew Bush in 1994-5. After completing residency training he started working at the Marmara University Division of Pediatric Pulmonology in 1997. In 2005, Dr Karadag received ERS Research Fellowship Award and worked at the Munich University Division of Pediatric Allergy on epidemiology with Prof. Erika von Mutius. He received associate professor degree in 2006. Dr Karadag served as the Head of the Pediatric Assembly of the Turkish Thoracic Society between 2006-2010. He has been working as professor of pediatrics and as the Head of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology at Marmara University since 2011. Dr Karadag has been elected as the Secretary of the Epidemiology of Pediatric Pulmonary Diseases of ERS in 2012 and the Chair of the same group in 2015. He served as the Foreign Relations Chair of the Turkish Thoracic Society Executive Committee between 2014-6. Dr. Karadag is the member of the National CF Screening Programme Scientific Committee. He is also the vice-chair of Middle East Cystic Fibrosis Association. His scientific interests are; cystic fibrosis asthma, bronchiolitis, bronchiectasis, and primary ciliary dyskinesia.
